About
Costing software built by makers, for makers
CraftCost exists because spreadsheets break the moment a business starts working properly — more products, more variants, changing supplier prices and a stockist who wants wholesale rates by Friday.
What CraftCost does
- Turns a recipe into an accurate per-unit cost, including packaging, labour and overhead.
- Handles GST the way Indian makers actually work, registered or not.
- Suggests MRP at 30%, 40%, 50% and 60% margin on selling price.
- Keeps a searchable product library with multiple variants per product.
- Compares variants side by side and exports cost sheets and comparisons to PDF.
- Adds practical extras: unit conversion, batch scaling and visual moodboards.
Who it is for
Independent candle, soap, perfume, incense, car-freshener and home-fragrance makers — typically one to five people, producing in batches of tens rather than thousands, selling direct, through Instagram, on marketplaces and to a handful of stockists. The maths is the same anywhere in the world; the GST handling is tuned for India.
Powered by Lume & Co.
CraftCost is built and maintained by Lume & Co., a lifestyle and fragrance brand. The tool started as our own internal costing sheet — the numbers we needed before quoting a stockist — and grew into something worth sharing with the wider maker community.
Getting started
Sign in with Google, pick a product type, and enter your first recipe — most makers have a costed product in under five minutes. If you want the theory first, read the pricing guide or browse the free maker tools.
